Should you charge separately for pre-production and post-production on your next video project? Let’s talk about that. When it comes to pre-production, I DON’T ALWAYS HAVE A SEPERATE PRICE. Some projects require little to zero pre-production, so I pass those savings onto the client. However, if the project requires multiple pre-production meetings or I’m the primary visionary for the project, I definitely charge for pre-production when necessary. ALWAYS PRICE POST-PRODUCTION SEPERATELY. How I price out each project varies depending on the specific needs of post-production. Find out the details, and give a customized price based on their exact needs. As I always say when it comes to pricing your video production, NEVER LINE ITEMIZE THE DETAILS OF THE PROJECT. Just give an overall price for pre-production, production, and post-production with the details of what’s included in that price. I want to answer any questions about how to build and grow a successful video production company, so ask away in the comment section!
